Character Storage/Voiding
This thread is the official location for any and all storage or character-voiding interactions. It will remain open until all characters have been removed from storage following the 2020 reopening.
What is character storage?
Character storage is a special option available only after the grand reopening of 2020. If you want to keep a character, but don't have space for them at the moment, you can keep them in "storage." You will not be able to take them out and put them back in at your leisure -- think of this as a temporary space they're occupying, and once they're gone, that space disappears. Whenever a character slot opens up for you -- be that by killing a character, donating them, or earning a new slot -- you can take one of your characters out of storage and put them back into your main lineup.
When am I allowed to store characters?
You may only store characters one time, and you may only do so within the two in-game seasons after the grand reopening(2020). Storage is an option because of the sudden implementation of character slots, and is an exclusive option for members who were on-site before the slots were implemented.
How do I store/void my characters?
In the post below this one, there are three templates that you can use. The first template is for storage, allowing you to put characters in storage. The second template is for voiding, where you render your character null and void; effectively killing them -- you do not have to write a death post, but you may if you like. The third template is for retrieving, where you remove a character from your storage and add them back to your active characters..
In order to complete any of these actions, you must fill out the respective template and reply to this thread with the filled template. Storage that happens outside of this thread will not be considered valid, and will be asked to go through the proper channels(which is here).
If you are performing multiple of these actions at once, please only use a maximum of three replies; one for each potential action. Keep similar actions grouped together: If you're storing three characters and voiding one, you should post two(2) replies: One with the three filled stored characters and one with the filled voided character.
How many characters can I have in storage?
There is no limit on how many characters you may have stored! Should you wish to store all of your old characters, you may do so. Do keep in mind, though, that you may only retrieve characters from storage once you have an open slot for them.
I don't want to store my characters, but I don't want to void them. Is there another option?
Yes! Characters who you don't wish to store or void, but who you also don't wish to keep, may be donated. Information on donating a character may be found here: Official Character Donation/Adoption Thread.
